Katie Donovan and Jane Robinson are hosting the live Open Mic on Wednesday 13 March, 7pm, upstairs at Walters, Dun Laoghaire. Its a great evening for poets, bloggers, short-prose writers, musicians, mime artists to come along and participate or attend as audience. Both poets will read from their own work, followed by an Open Mic.

How does the Open Mic work?
Readers will have a maximum of 5 minutes each. Five minutes could be four short poems, flash fiction, about 800 words of prose, or lyrics for a song (which could of course be sung!). Please rehearse and check your timing before arriving. On the night we’ll order the open mic readings on a first come first served basis — just tell the organisers when you arrive if you wish to read. For all readers it is important to respect the diversity and sensitivities of the audience. Listeners are just as welcome as performers! Moderation is by the event organisers.
This event is free, supported by dlr Arts Office, Walters bar, and ArtNetdlr.
