Fidelma O’Neill
This body of work explores the often subtle fragments and traces embedded in the landscape which resonate with lives gone past. Hints of previous inhabitants or human intervention are evoked by shifts in scale in the work and seek to convey a sense of “trying to find one’s bearings”.
Remains of tracks, ancient field systems and detritus are reminders of the tenacity of life. These “relics” speak of survival in spite of a sense of loss. The Artist aims to imbue the work with the spirit of these journeys.
The medium of oil/cold wax with pigment and sand is worked in several layers to resonate with the marks and textures of landscape. The language of symbols as code is also incorporated into the work

Fidelma has exhibited widely in Ireland and internationally including group shows EV+A, RHA Summer Show, A.I.R. Gallery New York and solo show Rocca Fiore in Todi, Umbria, Italy.

Angela Anderson
Angela gained a First-Class Honours Degree in Visual Art Practices from Dun
Laoghaire Institute of Art in 2007 and completed her MA in 2016.
She has received several awards from Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown County
Council and Create Ireland. In 2011, she was a winner in the international
competition organised by Europol, the European Law Enforcement Agency,
and her work is exhibited in their HQ in the The Hague. Her work has been
purchased by OPW and she has been successful in several open competitions
including: 2019- Goma Open, Waterford; Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown Open,
Utopia/Dystopia curated by Aoife Ruane, Director of Highlands Gallery,
Drogheda; Cairde Open, Model Arts, Sligo.2017-Arrival, Dun Laoghaire Open,
curated by Gemma Tipton; 2016 – Art in the EastSide, Belfast. N.I. The final
exhibition from her MA was long listed for the RDS Awards curated by Ruth
Carroll in 2016.
Concepts of ‘home,’ ‘place,’ and ‘locality’ are frequently referenced in her art.
This has been expressed in her earlier work through the collection and
presentation of valued objects and more recently in a response to landscape
and location.
The works in this exhibition reflect the West of Ireland in winter. She has tried
to capture the mood and emotions of this largely rural area which lies on the
edge of the Atlantic, with its preponderance of stone and blanket bog.
She begins each piece with mark making using charcoal, graphite, and oil stick.
Thin layers of oil paint and cold wax are built up by scraping, mono-printing,
masking, covering and continually exposing layers, to reveal a history of
colours, marks, and textures.
