ArtNetdlr Presents Covid 19 Good News Story – Biennale Collaborative Project Metamorphosis

Opening on Thursday, 24th February, 5pm.

Walters, George’s Street Upper, Dun Laoghaire

ArtNetdlr presents an exhibition of seventy eight artists from Dun Laoghaire – Rathdown. ArtNetdlr members from a wide range of disciplines and practices have been working together in small groups over the past eighteen months, collaborating via zoom, skype, or nature walks in response to the theme of Metamorphosis.

This exhibition includes work by painters, sculptors, photographers, musicians, and writers unfolding ideas from personal transformation, visual memories, to our relationship with nature. Some work on display challenges viewers to reflect on the concepts of desire, order, and chaos. These are shown alongside images of influential women and symbols of unchangeable stability. Each work of art stands alone, but may also be combined with other images and therefore metamorphose, independent of the artists’ intentions. It is a tribute to the resilience, perseverance and endurance of the artists who have brought their creativity to work during very difficult times.

Cathaoirleach Lettie McCarthy will launch the exhibition opening.

Exhibiting in collaboration with the newly renovated Walters bar in Dun Laoghaire, ArtNetdlr is providing a crucial platform for artists to exhibit in the public realm and reach new audiences.

Associated events will follow – the artists will be joined in conversation to discuss their exhibition.
