Haiku is a Japanese poetry form. It uses a few words to capture a moment and create a picture in the reader’s mind. It is like a glimpse into a scene or experience bigger than itself.

A haiku is a poem that can be said in one breath.

“As we face the winter season in difficult and uncertain times I would like to share how to write haiku with you. It is a very enriching experience to write haiku using moments and observations from your daily life.” Mary White

Be part of ArtNetdlr community of writers, join in, connect, and compose contemporary Haiku during this series of weekly virtual writing workshops on Zoom, led by Mary White. Mary has facilitated many creative writing workshops and masterclasses.

Participants will be sent a book about how to write Haiku and Japanese aesthetics. Each week will have a writing task for developing new work, group discussion, feedback, and supportive creative environment.
