GERARD HEGARTY

Gerard Hegarty is an Impressionist Artist based in Dublin.

He studied Art at NCAD and subsequently with renowned Artists including Arthur Maderson and Desmond Carrick.

Gerard himself has taught Art up to Honours Leaving Certificate level and has led adult painting courses in private and group classes. Gerard was Artist in Residence and Curator in the Village Art Gallery in Stillorgan Shopping Centre for 3 years. During his successful residency, fundraising for LauraLynn Children’s Hospice raised over €10,000.
Gerard has also exhibited in the Kilkenny and Carlow Arts Festivals He has also enjoyed showing in group and solo exhibitions throughout his career.
Gerard’s paintings are in many major private collections in Ireland and further afield including Australia, America, England, Canada and Spain. He is proud that they are in eminent collections such as that of Matthew McConnaghy, The American Embassy, Concern Head Office and the Blackrock Clinic. Recently as a local artist, he was especially pleased to secure the commission for the art work in Wetherspoons first Irish pub in Blackrock, Co. Dublin.
