Drawing Together with Darina Meagher

12 - 26 March

Seeing Through Drawing

Drawing Together with Darina Meagher

The drawing course with an award winning artist Darina Meagher is very much in demand and continues for 3 more weeks. Dates added:
Thursday 12 March
Thursday 19 March
Thursday 26 March

Expanding on our on-line Drawing Together sessions, this three-week course explores drawing as a way of seeing. Focusing on sharpening perceptual awareness, slowing visual engagement, and reconnecting technical skill with presence. Instead of prioritising style, finish, or productivity, the course emphasises patience, visual humility, and the capacity to encounter the familiar with fresh attention.

“I have learned that what I have not drawn I have never really seen, ….. when I start drawing an ordinary thing, I realise how extraordinary it is.” Frederick Franck, The Zen of Seeing.

Working with simple objects, participants will shift from habitual looking to intentional seeing, expanding drawing through attentive experimentation with scale, mark-making tools, and surface.

All levels are welcome.

Participants are asked to bring drawing materials, charcoal, pencils, brushes, and A2 drawing paper; some materials will be provided, more information to follow.

When: Thursday 12 March to Thursday 26 March, 2026, 7.15-9.15pm

Where: Monk Gibbon Community Hall, Foster Avenue, Stillorgan (Mount Merrion), Co. Dublin, A94 D5F1.

Cost: €60 for 3 sessions.
