ArtNetdlr invites Joanna Kidney to Dun Laoghaire, LexIcon theatre, Saturday 8 March 11 – 12.30.
Her practice is a quest for the non-material, what is not visible and concrete, considering the sensory, holistic and temporal. Through drawing, painting and installation, her work offers open, poetic prompts and a contemplative space.
Joanna Kidney was born in Dublin and is based in Co. Wicklow, Ireland. Her practice considers the immensity and the mystery of being human. It is a web of interrelated ideas around consciousness, perception, temporality and holism.
She teaches in Ireland and Internationally at Colleges in the USA and The Netherlands. She is an annual presenter and tutor at the International Encaustic Conference and Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Co. Mayo. Her Encaustic Painting Workshops are supported by R&F Handmade Paints, USA.
Joanna’s work is in many collections including Allied Irish Banks; The Ballinglen Museum of Art; The Central Bank of Ireland; Department of the Environment, Northern Ireland; Fleschmann Hilliard PR; Lee Hotels; and O’Connor Sutton Cronin Engineering, as well as private collections in Ireland, USA, UK, Spain, France, Switzerland.
