Conor Walton is a contemporary artist whose work is characterized by a deep respect for the traditional techniques of painting. He has been recognized as one of Europe’s top contemporary artists, with a career spanning over two decades. Walton’s art often reflects on the nature of Western civilization and the sacrifices made in the name of modernization. His works are a blend of traditional and contemporary elements, showcasing his ability to stay true to the past while exploring new ideas.
Walton’s art has been featured in numerous exhibitions and has been recognized with several awards, including the Gino De Agrò International Award and the Ismail Lulani International Award. His approach to painting is rooted in the use of Old Master techniques, with influences from artists like Jan van Eyck and Rembrandt. Walton’s art continues to evolve, addressing contemporary issues such as environmental degradation, terrorism, and globalization.
Since its foundation in 2017 the ‘Conor Walton Summer School’ and its scholarship programme have drawn students from four continents.
His works have appeared on postage stamps and book covers in Ireland and abroad.
