I enjoyed 6 years (2013 – 2019) in formal art education finishing with a Masters Degree in Fine Art Paint from NCAD.  I was longlisted for the RDS Visual Art Awards for my MFA Degree Show.  My paintings have been acquired by the OPW, Department of Foreign Affairs and private collectors.

For the most part I use oil paints and my artwork is abstract and colourful.  Shapes and patterns in nature are a major influence and I like to experiment with mixed media.  My approach to painting is swift and intuitive assisted by working on several canvases at once.  This way of working powers my impulse to use confident brushstrokes and build layers of colour rendered to form a more daring alliance.  I have learnt that by leaving aside my willed intention and maintaining a lightness of touch I achieve the desired result.  It is almost as though another self joins in the creative process.  

 What keeps me excited to be a painter is the unanticipated outcome.
