Louise Neiland’s practice is engaged with the challenge of depicting the nebulous and intangible nature of time through the use of still images. Neiland is recognised by her series of thoughtful and haunting paintings including large scale works which “evoked a cosmic scale in a bravura painting installation” Aidan Dunne, Art Critic, Irish Times.

Interest in measuring time in line, transformative static landscape atmosphere, multiple moons and patterns are amongst the topics to be discussed by the artist.

About Artist:

Born in Dublin, Louise studied at Camberwell College of Art and Design, London and the National College of Art and Design in Dublin where she obtained an Honours Degree in Fine Art, Painting in 1991.

Louise has exhibited in various group shows both nationally and internationally. Her commissioned work includes a piece on permanent exhibit in Dublinia, Christchurch, Dublin. She has had several solo shows around Dublin City and her work is held in both company and private collections. She has received various Arts Council bursaries and awards and her work has been in many publications. She is a lecturer in the Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Dun Laoghaire.
