My work emerges from a sense of place, disengagement, boundaries, the changing of our connections, and how we are now. These notions of fragmentation I represent in my artworks where I create paper installations, paintings and monotype prints. To extend my vision in my work I include archival images of mapped spaces which lend abstraction and distortion to the work.
Each of my disciplines are through the medium of Encaustic. I love the dimension and versatility Encaustic brings to my work. My paintings are collaged, reassembled, layered and scraped back. I really identify with this medium as it lends itself to sculptural outcomes as well as pure paint.
Currently I have been Awarded a scholarship to attend “The International Encaustic Conference 2020” in Provincetown, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, U.S. by The International Encaustics Artists Association. I have exhibited in both Solo and Group Shows, attended residencies and have forthcoming Exhibitions in Russborough House, Blessington Co Wicklow And The Courthouse Arts Centre, Tinahely, Co Wicklow in 2020.
